Have you ever wanted to learn how to sail? Are you looking for a registered ASA instructional facility to get your certification? Or maybe you just want to gain some knowledge and experience on the water. At South Bay Sailing, we offer sailing lessons out of Redondo Beach for any skill level whether you are a beginner or someone looking for a refresher course. All lessons are performed on a J/80 sailboat roughly 26-feet in length. If you go to book a lesson and don't see a date that works for you, simply contact us and we will do our best to accommodate you.

INTRODUCTION TO SAILING

Our introduction to sailing course is designed to give you a 90-minute crash course into the joys of sailing. We cover the basics of sailing in this introductory course perfect for beginners. If you've always thought about learning to sail, this is the perfect class for you. Trips will be shared with up to six others.

ASA 101 SAILING LESSONS

As a certified instruction school for the American Sailing Association, South Bay Sailing offers ASA certification to qualified sailors through our ASA 101 course. Each lesson is three hours long. A full course typically consists of eight lessons, though students may complete the required skills sooner. Each lesson is booked individually. Times are subject to availability.

GROUP YOUTH SAILING LESSONS

Sailing can be such a wonderful experience for young kids as it offers them a chance to learn something new and experience sea life in our local waters. Sailing lessons make great outings for scouting groups, birthday parties or other special occasions. Contact us for more details about what these special group youth sailing lessons have to offer.

PRIVATE SAILING LESSONS

Private sailing lessons afford students one-on-one instruction with an experienced skipper who will teach you everything about sailing from the basics to the more involved. Private lessons are taken on our J/80 sailboat and private lessons are limited to two people.
